Membership
The Belgian federation for infant and young child nutrition, in abbreviated form “babynutrition.be”, represents food business operators putting foods and food ingredients specifically tailored for infants and young children aged 0-3 years, also called “baby food”, on the Belgian market.
The babynutrition.be federation is the spokesperson of this sector and its member companies to engage in dialogue with the Belgian authorities, media, governmental organisations, other federations or associations like health care professionals or consumer organisations, as well as NGOs active in the infant and young child sector.
Who can become a member?
Food business operators putting on the Belgian market foods and/or food ingredients specifically tailored for infants and young children aged 0-3 years are eligible to become a member of babynutrition.be
Based on Regulation 178/2002 on General food law, a food business operator carries out any of the activities related to any stage of production, processing and distribution of food.
Which are the advantages of babynutrition.be membership?
Membership gives your company the opportunity:
- to be (closely) involved in regulatory and policy discussions at national and European level related to foods for infants and young children;
- to contribute to shaping and sharing interpretation of regulatory requirements related to foods for infants and young children;
- to be represented towards the Belgian authorities, media, governmental organisations, other federations or associations like health care professionals or consumer organisations, as well as NGOs active in the early childhood sector;
- to be kept up-to-date about the evolutions of relevant issues of the regulatory framework;
- to meet with (experts from) food business operators active in the baby nutrition sector.
